In this episode, I explain why the D.C. shooting was not an immigration issue at all. It was something the United States created and then lost control of.
Two National Guard members were ambushed near the White House. One was killed and the other is still fighting for his life. The suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, had once served in an Afghan counterterrorism unit that worked directly with the CIA. When Kabul fell in 2021, the U.S. military flew him out through Operation Allies Welcome, and after more security checks he was approved for asylum in 2025.
There was no long-term support for him after that. No real follow up. In the end he turned his violence on two young working people who were simply doing their job on the street. This situation shows a deeper truth that many avoid.
The people at the bottom are the ones who keep paying the price for decisions made at the top. This was not a foreign danger. This was a threat the American system built on its own.
