I appreciate this article. It taps into something that really bothers me here in North America. Everybody runs around touting entrepreneurship, right? And yet, it's literally sink or swim except for nepo trust fund babies. All you have to do is watch a show like The Profit with Marcus Lemonis to see how many small businesses start up without any support whatsoever, and each one has to reinvent the wheel. What the heck ever happened to apprenticeships? Mentoring? It is so wasteful to have all these small operators trying to learn on their own with no support. This is why so many small businesses fail or just limp along. How hard is it to provide a space, some water and some electricity? It's not a joke for people putting everything they have into a good idea and then having it fail because there is not quite enough capital or not quite enough experience. It is actually really upsetting. People work hard, and they want to succeed, and yet everything is stacked in favour of those who already have capital and inheritances.
