The Democratic Party Isn’t Collapsing Because of Trump. It’s Collapsing Because of Gaza
78% of NYC primary voters already see the truth. The establishment is still pretending to be asleep.
The crisis inside the Democratic Party isn’t coming from the Right. It’s coming from the ground beneath them. And it’s not a slow shift, it’s a political landslide triggered by outrage, conscience, and the blood of Gaza.
In New York City’s recent Democratic primary, the base sent a message. Loud and clear. A new generation of voters isn’t interested in AIPAC loyalty tests. They’re backing candidates with courage and clarity. People like Zohran Mamdani.
It’s not MAGA that’s breaking the Democratic Party. It’s reality.
According to a new poll from Data for Progress, conducted from July 11 to 17, 2025, with 513 Democratic primary voters in NYC:
78% say Israel is committing genocide in Gaza
79% support restricting U.S. weapons sales to Israel
63% say Netanyahu should be arrested if he visits New York City
Let that sink in. These aren’t Gen Z TikTokers. They’re verified voters people who showed up at the ballot box and made their voices count.
And this was before the latest images of starvation in Gaza made international headlines.
Mamdani’s win wasn’t an accident. It was an alarm bell.
Zohran Mamdani is one of the few Democrats who didn’t flinch. He stood with Palestinians even as AIPAC and Democratic leaders tried to silence him.
Why did voters back him?
89% said they supported his plans to lower the cost of living
86% cited his proposals to tax the wealthy and take on corporate power
62% pointed to his strong support for Palestinian rights as a key factor in their vote
Here’s where it gets real: among new voters people who didn’t even vote in 2021 83% said his pro-Palestinian stance mattered to them.
And 35% of those new voters said reducing support for Israel was a deciding factor.
In other words: Palestinian rights didn’t alienate voters they activated them.
AIPAC’s money is losing to grassroots rage
For decades, AIPAC has used its massive war chest to shut down dissent. But this time, the numbers tell a different story.
The same Data for Progress poll found:
Only 5% of voters said “maintaining or increasing support for Israel” mattered to their vote
21% said “reducing support for Israel” was a factor in their decision
That’s a four-to-one rejection of the AIPAC narrative.
In political terms? That’s not just a shift that’s a rupture.
No amount of lobby money can silence a generational moral awakening.
Establishment Democrats: You’re running out of excuses
This isn’t about “the Squad” or some fringe activist wing. This is about your base.
In NY’s 10th Congressional District, represented by Dan Goldman one of AIPAC’s star-backed Democrats the alarm bells are ringing.
Only 21% of voters say they’ll support him again
44% say they’re ready to vote for another Democrat
If you’re another Democratic incumbent, take note. That noise you hear? It’s the floor beneath you cracking.
This wasn’t an election. It was a verdict.
Zohran Mamdani’s victory wasn’t just a political win. It was a public indictment. Of silence. Of complicity. Of the cowardice at the top of the Democratic Party.
The people are done waiting.
You can keep chasing donors, or you can listen to voters. But you can’t do both forever.
This is no longer about left versus right. This is about right versus wrong.
While I agree with you, generally, it seems to me, though, the death knell has been ringing for the Democrats for decades. When they suited up in the same corrupt veneer of the GOP, they chose their poison.
AIPAC it's just another symptom. the reason the Democratic party has been sinking for the last 5 decades is because they have become Reagan democrats. they are corporate owned and they don't work for the people anymore. right now today they announced their equivocating between trying to work something out with the Nazis across the aisle or should they fight back harder? they don't know how to message and never have. they don't know how to fight back because maybe they're complicit. tone deaf spineless appeasers.
