Each gathering of supporters, not protestors, increases month by month. That leverage is also called subliminal messaging. Minneapolis has a lot of community organization. The spread out burbs of Illinois cannot do things as easily, but we are fortunate to have a strong governor with Pritzker. We do have ICE here, though their presence is not as big or as brazen. But I realize I need to be better at knowing and being involved in my community.
I'll also add, that demonstrations and supporters do matter to ICE and Trump, in the way that they believed invading Minneapolis was going to be easier than Chicago. I think its been a shock. It was chosen because it was smaller, and they are invading small cities and towns now. So I do think seeing all those thousands of protesters in sub zero temperatures, coming together, not backing down basically saying fuck off, even after all they've been through and lost, meant something. And, if not for them, then it was still a collective win for Minnesotans and supporters from across the country.
The Supporters, not protestors, are showing up All Over the USA. Lets call them Supporters instead of Protestors. Support has a positive ring to it, Protest has a negative ring to it.

If everyone is concerned about signalling or posting on social media what they've done, that makes it easier to be surveilled. Much organizing work is done most effectively underground.
