You're too young to have lived under more substantial U.S. presidents. The circus of the last 25 years isn't indicative of what Democracy can accomplish, more likely the peaking and subsiding of empire. However, not to diminish China's great accomplishments and we could learn some things from your meritocracy.
Your analyses are always educational and I love the “grumpy” tone too. However, you consistently emphasize the drawbacks of the American system and the benefits of the Chinese system. I get it that you are myth busting. Great. But your analyses would carry more weight if you compared apples to apples: the problems with the USA versus the problems of China, for example.

Does China have a school dedicated to governance, where people go to learn the systems and and procedures? The Ottomans had one and I believe the Japanese did, at one point.
If young people are interested in governance, if they perform well, they can apply or be invited to the Party School of the CPC. Usually every college has this kind of organization. From there you will learn everything, of course, most knowledge there are basic, but, enough for them to get a government job.
Well, as far as I concern, in China , all my family and friends have affordable housing, food, health care, no drug no gun issues, safe to hangout mid of the night, so…
