I've become disenchanted with liberalism for exactly the reasons you have described. I don't think any government out there is really "walking the walk", but liberalism vs fascism here in the US seems to be a contrived conflict distracting the electorate from the real problem - which is runaway, unchecked capitalist plutocracy. When / if the rank & file people figure this out, without / despite the media sloganeering, the class enemy (forgive the hackneyed term) will be in big trouble.

same, agree with you. the common people from dems and republicans, are actually want the same thing, these are shown through last 2 elections, they just dont have a structure yet, which is the Class consciousness.

We both know what "class consciousness" "class enemy" and Sloganeering" mean, but we'll need to derive different synonyms ( slogans? ) to spread the concepts to sentient people already programmed to reject outdated revolutionary phraseology.

I wish I could restack this 100 times. We desperately need actual change. We desperately need to be taking care of the people of our country. We need to be kind and welcoming to our visitors. We need a realistic path to citizenship for our immigrants. And we absolutely must raise education standards and not abolish them. Furthermore, poverty should not be a death sentence. I can’t imagine why anyone would champion killing the poor, robbing from the middle class and giving extra benefits to the richest people.

Those are only some of my major complaints. I’m not even touching on the human rights abuses, the lying and stealing, the blantant war crimes, the backing of foreign governments instead of backing the US, the betrayal we’ve brought to our allies, the unqualified cabinet covering for a monster and the S trafficking of children… and on and on.

100% agree, the US has so much potential, we all have seen that, but right now, it is a shit show.

Sorry, I have no name's avatar

“Governance is judged by whether it prioritizes the people’s material interests, social stability, and long-term well-being, rather than elite profit or factional advantage.”

I used to thing that was what the government did but now I know it never did. At its best it was liberal, never left. The scales are off my eyes.

I think that, objectively speaking:

Neither leftism nor liberalism actually exist per-say here in this fanatically extreme judeochristian USA.

US Democracy is doubtful too.

Just like Hitler and his oligarchs did by deceiving both the frustrated German workers and many of the jewish socialist academics running workers unions in Germany and Europe then, the corrupt US American religious rightwing oligarchs have since long figured out much older established American-ways to screw their workers and voters over by installing FAKE “Southern-“Democrats into the Dem party, by falsely labeling some forever-wars-mongering centrist US neo-Cons masquerading as U.S. Dems leaders (Clintons) as “godless liberals”, or put a usefully inexperienced religious conservative Uncle Tom, Obama, with no power what-so ever on the U.S. president (chair setup to fail certainly).

Meanwhile old Jewish man Sanders who propose a more socially responsibly social liberal Democracy as the has is being crucified and smeared as Socialist, and a communist self-hating America-hating Jew.

The above said can be confirmed by analyzing all past and recent US politicians various voting records particular when it comes to actual social economic issues and defunding the American private military industrial complex (which includes a hyper militarized US killer-police force) and the foreign “patriotism” sensibility-topic, Israel ( Israel, not the protection of lives and rights of all jewish diasporas people but military protection of a resource-rich stolen and ethnic cleansed biblical dust-land)

Anyways, I am digressing. the USA has always meh-mediocre autocratic political divide & conquer-ways to keep its domestic leftists, liberals and conservatives violently divided (guns and shooting each-others as their “god-given rights” are just three interconnected USA-manufactured ways of keeping common people not just here in USA divided, violent and in deadly fear of one-another and of others ) just like they have for centuries kept the white, black brown, feminists, LGBTQ and immigrated “leftist” and other people apart. Or worse, the USA even has a history ( of culling alleged leftist Jews, as Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, just to keep the USA fanatic religious, misinformed and christo fascist. Is it still a surprise that after Hitler Germany the USA remained for a long time the sole country to murder Jewish and other academics based on falsehoods accusations of them being “ leftists”?? Shouldn’t really be a surprise any more for anyone actually history educated.

I agree with you. Most of us (Americans) never even check the voting records of our representatives. The number of democrats that voted against lowering medication prices is mind boggling. So many were from poor states and districts! So many had accepted campaign funds from big pharma. Their voters don’t seem to pay attention or even care. It leaves me asking myself, “Is there a mental problem with these people? Can they read? Can they count? Are they even human?”

Some American who vote Republican or vote for the establishment democrats make 30k a year or less. If these voters need a medicine that costs 400 a month, to stay alive, they cannot afford it. They won’t get the drug.

This is accurate. The confusion foments the boundaries and the walls giving power to the elite. This confusion keeps people separated.

Sharp take on why labor movements keep getting defanged. The strikes point is crucial: liberals panic the moment disruption threatens normalcy, then call it "protecting the economy." I saw this firsthand when a local union was about to strike and suddenly city officials started talking about "responsible negotiation" like workers had some obligation to keep bosses comfortable. The liberalism-as-pressure-valve framing makes alot more sense than just blaming individual politicians.

As a genuine, bona fide leftist, I’m always insulted when liberals are called leftists.

That was a perfect dissect of these two things.

Love it. So much I ended up doing a deep dive on the origin the thinking of the modern liberal and its twisted roots in leftist ideology. https://tantaman.substack.com/p/debugging-the-confusion-liberalism

It’s interesting how leftists always use the same excuse when their actions don’t work:

- Liberalism is not real leftism…

- Venezuela isn’t real socialism…

- Cuba isn’t real socialism…

- Stalin wasn’t a real Marxist…

- Real communism has never been implemented…

The fact is that leftists enthusiastically support liberal values, so at the very least there is significant overlap between them.

Liberals want Electoral College. Even though WBush & Trump both lost the popular vote (the real vote) and won their first terms.
