You're correct. No Kings is street theater for the bourgeoisie left, the people who never worry about paying the rent, putting food on the table, or worrying how to pay that huge emergency room bill for a child burning up with fever.

i like the way how you put it

The No Kings movement also fails because the Democrats have done nothing to overturn their dysfunctionality that lost the election -- too much influence from far left groups and leaders like Sanders, Warren, AOC instead of reasonable people like, for example, Josh Shapiro and Gretchen Whitmer.

Josh Shapiro is a Zionist who volunteered as a teen for the IDF, called state police to break up a pro-Palestine student encampment at Penn, and warned PA state employees that they could be fired for protesting Israel’s genocide. Josh is Israel first, and should never be president.

Steve Mudge's avatar

First, it's Palestinians whose mission statement is the genocide of the Israelis. What's wrong with supporting a vibrant Democracy like Israel in a region full of Islamic Kings?

Sandy Pontius's avatar

Zionists have been killing Palestinians since 1948, the Nakba, and are now committing genocide. Israel is an apartheid state with a separate legal system for nonJews, even when nonJews live in Israel. Israel has never stopped stealing land, with its illegal settlements. Israel has never been able to support itself and takes tax dollars that rightfully belong to Americans. For that, I blame our pathetic politicians. Israel has killed and does kill Americans, sold stolen military secrets to Russia, and stole uranium from the U.S. for its “secret” nukes. Netanyahu has an ICC warrant out for his arrest. IDF brag about committing rapes and other war crimes. Israel is not an ally to most Americans — indeed, Zionists want to curtail freedom of speech and peaceful assembly — as Josh Shapiro did.

I disagree, however we're both entitled to our views.

Israel is not even an ally to most Jews.

Israel is hardly a vibrant democracy. I actually stopped reading at that point, which is very much not like me. It is hard to take anyone seriously who would posit such a thing.

I agree. Especially when their events are so far apart from each other. What good is it to wait so long between protests. Other than making participants feel good it has no other benefit. Mind you, I love seeing it, but.....still.

Thanks for always telling it like it is, Grumpy. I appreciate it.

Bingo! You are 100% correct. Question for you: If the majority of American's changed their registration to an independent voter would it move this political machine differently?

Jerry Latsko's avatar

Precisely correct. For many of us, if we get to say how we feel we feel validated. It's hard work and sacrifice to make real change. We need to be our own heroes and not look for saviors.

I think the No Kings movement dooms itself to street theater because it fails to deal with Trump as one should deal with a malignant narcissist.

Trump’s mental disorder makes him desire royal treatment and royal power, while at the same time leaving him ignorant, incompetent and powerless.

He has the ability to engage street thugs to perform acts of cruelty and sadism, but Trump lacks the competence to go further.

Jerry Latsko's avatar

Yeah, Bill, but I think the Grumpy man's point is that the system will just find another one when he's gone if we can't start dealing with it.

Rip Van Winkle's avatar

The question to ask is what happens when a segment of those participating decide to rise up and The question to Grumpy et al. How long do you think the participants in the No Kings Demonstrations will remain passive and docile ? It's only a matter of time before some element sees through their game and flips off Indivisble and their Democrat Party/Capitalist Henchmen. After all what does it take for anyone to show up and start distributing leaflets. Indivisible has to walk a very treacherous High Wire Act. If Indivisible picks up wind and attempts to put the kabosh on No Kings that could set off numerous spontaneous events that could head off in any direction. I know of several Socialist Groups that are lurking in the weeds waiting for the opportunity to pounce. Stay tuned folks this could get interesting !

Yes, the system resets, and the machine keeps on pushin! No Change!

"I can't wait for No Kings Day. It's gonna be so much fun! 😀"

Pamela Hannula's avatar

So what should be done to change the system? What steps can be taken? The Indivisible movement brings recognition and a place for people to talk about steps we can take. It gives people a place to gather with like minded people. That’s the good part of it. How do we dismantle the firmly entrenched two party system?

the capitalist all they care about is money and control, start from these.

Very interesting comments, and maybe correct. What do you propose instead?

True that electing democrats is part of the overall plan…. But why not? What are the alternatives?
